When a character dies, the people on the show aren't the only ones who are in mourning.
The audience also becomes invested in the characters, and need proper closure in order for their deaths to truly serve as an end to their story.

There are some major characters who never had an on-screen wake, which leaves viewers feeling unsatisfyed with how everything wrapped up.
We created a slideshow below of 13 TV characters who didn't get a proper funeral, and should have.
1. Allison Argent - Teen Wolf
Allison Argent was singlehandedly the inspiration for this slideshow. She was a main character since the very first episode of Teen Wolf, and the lack of an onscreen funeral is something fans are still bitter about to this day.
2. Mark Sloan and Lexie Grey - Grey's Anatomy
We appreciated that the hospital was named after Mark and Lexie, but an onscreen funeral to pay tribute to two major characters felt necessary. But then again, countless people have died on the show and it's rare to witness any funerals at all.
3. Poussey Washington - Orange is the New Black
Poussey's inmates may have created a makeshift memorial, but she deserved a proper funeral and the prison should have provided it. Of course, they never would have done so, but Poussey was such a kind and pure soul who never should have been killed in such a brutal way to begin with.
4. Guinevere Beck - YOU
Beck was the protagonist of the series and her death felt extremely sudden. One minute she was alive and the next her psycho boyfriend had killed her. A funeral would have been a good way to make her death feel more real.
5. Commander Lexa - The 100
Commanders don't get funerals. They get a chip cut out of their neck and their spirit placed in the next leader. But after everything Lexa had done for her people, it felt like she deserved more than a ritual.
6. Ellen and Jo Harvelle - Supernatural
It's been a decade and we're still not over Ellen and Jo's death. Their bodies were blown up so it's not like they could have had a proper burial, but it would have been nice for Sam and Dean to find a way to give them a makeshift funeral.
