23 Confessions of Love That Made Us Jealous

We all have those TV couples that make our hearts happy whenever they are on screen together.

Their love makes the show that they are on that much better.

But it is their love confessions that stay with the audience, because those admissions can make or break the way a couple is recieved. Some of our favorite ships have shared some of the most amazing confessions.

17 Former TV Friends That Should Work Through Their Issues

A really good love confession though is the kind that makes you jealous, it will make a fan want to have a similiar journey themselves and there are quite a few of those.

Here is a slideshow that highlights some emotional and iconic love confessions, all of which are meant to make you just a tiny bit jealous at the same time.

1. Rebecca and Greg (Crazy Ex-Girlfriend)

Rebecca and greg crazy ex girlfriend
Rebecca spent a whole episode going on different dates, with Josh and Nathaniel trying to create the best idea for her. But there was something about Greg and Rebecca being on the same page, choosing not to go on an extravagant date and then still ending up spending time together. Then the way Greg just slipped into a conversation about how much Rebecca means to him, it is simple and yet meaningful in all the best ways.

2. Clarke and Bellamy (The 100)

Clarke and bellamy the 100
Clarke being told that love is a weakness, and then immediately sending Bellamy away even though she didn't want to before because she was weak was a lot to handle. Bellamy might not have known what was going on, but it was the fans that got the message. Clarke loved Bellamy, even if she revealed it in the most unconventional way.

3. Liz and Max (Roswell, New Mexico)

Liz and max roswell new mexico
Liz might not have been ready to say it back, but Max exposing his whole heart, again and again, is iconic at this point. Getting to see a male lead talk so openly about his feelings isn't always the default, so the more Max did that, the more his confessions won everyone over. Including Liz.

4. Barry and Iris (The Flash)

Barry and iris the flash
These two have enough confessions that it is hard to choose from. The jealousy here comes from how open Barry and Iris are about their love for one another.

5. Chidi and Eleanor (The Good Place)

Chidi and eleanor the good place
This was a glimpse into the life Chidi and Eleanor got to live, and the domestic and soft tone of it all is just too much. It is angsty for them at the moment, but who doesn't want an adorable love confession like this from their significant other?

6. Wyatt and Lucy (Timeless)

Wyatt and lucy timeless
It can be a bit distracting to pick up on any love confessions with Wyatt and Lucy's epic kiss sequences, but somehow it all works out. These two have been through a lot, and so have their fans, so it is only fair to have some exceptional love confessions to end the show with.

The best scenes on television almost always come with a catch.

Showrunners love to dangle the most satsifying moments in front of their audience's faces, and then abruptly take them away and leave viewers wanting more.

There's also the rare case of inconsistent writing, in which these moments are never again adressed on the show. So...what was the point of showing them exactly?

We created a slideshow below of 31 'ship teases that were downright cruel.

1. Joey and Phoebe kiss - Friends

Joey and phoebe kiss friends
Joey and Phoebe were always portrayed as a possible pairing, but it never quite came to fruition. When Joey kissed Phoebe under the impression that it was her twin sister, there was no denying the sparks flying between them.

2. Simon and Isabelle finally kiss - Shadowhunters

Simon and isabelle kiss but cant touch each other shadowhunters
After waiting for the entirety of the series, Simon and Isabelle finally kissed in the Shadowhunters series finale. But, of course, there's a catch. Isabelle has Heavenly Fire running through her veins and can't touch Simon without risking both of their lives.

4. Jon and Daenerys get together - Game of Thrones

Jon and daenerys get together game of thrones
Fans were waiting years for these two to meet, and when they finally do the chemistry between them is undeniable. However, it sucked for viewers to discover that they were unknowingly related during the middle of their sex scene.

5. Ricky and Amy get engaged - The Secret Life of the American Teenager

Ricky and amy get engaged the secret life of the american teenag
Ricky and Amy deserved better than their ending. They may have gotten engaged in a beautiful moment, but Amy ultimately leaves him at the end of the show. The showrunner did come out and say that the two do get married after the series ends, but we'd like to see it rather than being told about it.

6. Jeff and Annie kiss goodbye - Community

Jeff and annie kiss goodbye community
Community teased the relationship between Jeff and Annie from the get-go. They may have kissed in the series finale, but it was more of a goodbye kiss meant to leave things open-ended.

Weddings are highly anticipated TV events. They are the reward for watching our favorite couples pine, fight and overcome all obstacles on the road to true love. Since we spend a lot of time of energy and rooting for them, we naturally want their weddings to be elaborate celebrations of love shared with all of our favorite characters.

Some couples oblige us. They plan out their wedding throughout an entire season and

have a show-stopping ceremony and reception in the finale. These are not those couples. They are the couples who married in a hurry.

Some of these couples tried planning a wedding, but it was derailed. Others had so many hangups, they couldn't make up their mind until it was almost too late. All of them realized they loved each other so much, they refused to wait a single minute longer to tie the knot.

1. Richard/Emily - Gilmore Girls

Richard slash emily gilmore girls
High society weddings don't come together on a whim -- unless you're Richard and Emily Gilmore. To celebrate the end to their dark days of separation, they planned a classy, elegant vow renewal ceremony with reception to follow at the Windsor Club's Rose Room (which can fit a twenty-piece orchestra) in a week.

2. Magnus/Alec - Shadowhunters

Magnus slash alec shadowhunters
Magnus is always right. Who needs months of planning when your wedding planner is a warlock, and all you need is a little magic, exquisite taste, and the man you've been waiting for your entire life.

3. Bernadette/Howard - The Big Bang Theory

Bernadette and howard the big bang theory
Bernadette and Howard were planning a big wedding only to have it disrupted when Howard got a call to board a rocket. With the gang's help, Bernadette and Howard had an impromptu rooftop ceremony, and Howard Wolowitz went to outer space a married man.

4. Blake/Cristal - Dynasty

Blake and cristal dynasty
Fallon didn't take the news of her father remarrying very well and tried to break up Blake and Cristal. Her efforts backfired. Blake transformed their engagement party into a wedding. Cristal got her wish of walking down the aisle to David Bowie's "Modern Love," and Fallon got the kiss off.

5. William/Daisy - Downton Abbey

William slash daisey downton abbey
William loved Daisy, and everybody at Downton Abbey loved William. The downstairs staff, Lady Edith, and the Dowager Countess herself moved heaven and earth to make his dying wish of marrying her come true.

6. Castle/Beckett - Castle

Married at last castle s7e6
Instead of the beautiful, elaborate wedding Caskett fans wanted to see, Castle and Beckett had a lackluster, quickie wedding ceremony without their friends set against a badly green-screened sunset. At least the vows were good.

The main character isn't always the best character.

Sometimes the lead or the main cast can't carry their fair share of weight, and the responsibility of keeping the audience entertained falls on one characterer in particular.

Related: 31 'Ship Teases That Were Downright Cruel

We created a slideshow below of 21 characters who carried the show on their backs!

1. Eretria - The Shannara Chronicles

Eretria the shannara chronicles
Eretria was always the best part of The Shannara Chronicles. Her growth and her personal arc carried the story and made each episode more interesting than the last.

2. Fonzie - Happy Days

Fonzie happy days
Fonzie may have started off the show as a secondary character, but he moved up in the ranks. In time, he became the lead of the show, and the network even considered renaming Happy Days after him.

3. Ava Jalali - The Perfectionists

Mona vanderwaal the perfectionists
The Perfectionists is nowhere near as good as Pretty Little Liars. But the whole spinoff feels worth it just for Ava Jalali. It's all too easy to feel a connection to her character, and her storyline is the most exciting aspect of the show.

4. J.R. Ewing - Dallas

Jr ewing dallas
Dallas wasn't originally supposed to focus on J.R. He became such an integral and beloved character that his storyline quickly moved front and center on the show.

5. Blair Waldorf - Gossip Girl

Blair waldorf gossip girl
Serena was the "It Girl" on the series, but her best friend Blair was by far the most interesting. Her quirky attitude and her determination to succeed are what made Gossip Girl so successful.

6. Castiel - Supernatural

Castiel supernatural
Castiel AND the Winchesters carry the show on their backs. We would have no show without Sam and Dean. But the show significantly improved when Castiel got introduced, and he has become just as crucial as the Winchesters themselves.

Most people experience more than one love in their life, and odds are your first love isn't always your last.

On television, characters break up and make up so often, there's really no telling who's going to end up with who.

Related: 13 Times a Character's Jealousy Was Satisfying

There are times when the first love interest a character has in a series, is also the person they find their way back to in the end.

We put together a slideshow of 19 characters whose first love was their enduring love!

1. Meredith Grey - Grey's Anatomy

Meredith grey greys anatomy
Meredith and Derek are seen together from the get-go. No matter what happened on the series, Meredith always loved Derek above all else. Had he not died, he and Meredith would have grown old together.

2. Lucas Scott - One Tree Hill

Lucas scott one tree hill
Lucas loved Peyton since the first day he saw her, and he even told her so in his vows. Although they were both dating different people in the pilot, it was clear that they were each other's first and last loves.

3. Sabrina Spellman - Sabrina the Teenage Witch

Sabrina spellman sabrina the teenage witch
Harvey was Sabrina's first love as they were together during the very beginning of the series. She did end up dating some other characters, but Sabrina and Harvey found their way back to each other in the end.

4. Emily Fields - Pretty Little Liars

Emily fields pretty little liars
We're going to ignore The Perfectionists for a minute and just focus on the original show. Going off of just Pretty Little Liars, Alison was the first person Emily loved and they did end up getting married at the show's end. We're just going to leave it at that because frankly, this relationship deserves better than what the spinoff tried to do to it.

5. Kurt Hummel - Glee

Kurt hummel glee
Kurt's quest for romance was a big part of his storyline on Glee. When he finally found it with Blaine, he never wanted to let it go. But unfortunately, life does happen and things get in the way. We couldn't be more thankful that they ended up married and with a baby on the way in the end.

6. Ted Mosby - How I Met Your Mother

Ted mosby how i met your mother
Ted set his sights on Robin on the very first episode of the sitcom. Despite the whole series being about Ted telling his kids the story of how he met their mom, he ended up with Robin in the final episode.

13 TV Dates We Wish We Never Attended

Television dates have a habit of going extremely well or extremely bad. It's all too rare for it to fall in the middle.

Some dates were so amazing that we were jealous just watching them, and others were so cringe-worthy that we couldn't stand the second-hand embarrassment.

Related: 19 Characters Whose First Love Was Their Enduring Love

As a result, our expectiations either became too high, or too low.

We created a slideshow below of 13 TV dates we wish we never attended!

1. Eric and Donna's first date - That 70's Show

Eric and donnas first date that 70 s show
There's only one word that properly sums up this one: disastrous. Eric and Donna were both nervous about their first date, but Donna was able to let loose when she was accidentally served Long Island Iced Tea instead of regular Iced Tea.

2. Cheryl and Toni's unofficial "Love, Simon" date - Riverdale

Cheryl and tonis unofficial love simon date
The inclusion of this movie on Riverdale was perfect as it helped Cheryl come to terms with who she is. We were just jealous that they got to see the movie before us!

3. Doug and Carrie's vacation - King of Queens

Doug and carries vacation king of queens
Doug took Carrie to a wilderness resort that they had been to in the past, but as it turns out, she wasn't the girl he came with the first time. They ended up fighting the entire trip and went their separate ways in the wilderness. As you can see, Carrie fared a bit better than he did.

4. Jane and Michael's recreated date - Jane the Virgin

Jane and michaels recreated date jane the virgin
Remember when Jane and Michael recreated one of their first dates and were the cutest couple on the planet? Maybe if we never would have seen moments like this, the later seasons of the show would hurt less.

5. Tate and Violet's Halloween date - American Horror Story

Tate and violets halloween date american horror story
Halloween is the only time each year that Tate is able to leave the house. It sounded like it would be a great night and a good opportunity for them to have some normalcy, but Tate and Violet were threatened by a group of ghosts that Tate had killed. Knowing that information changed our opinion of Tate completely, and we couldn't help but wish that everything that was said that night was a lie.

6. Nick and Jess' first date that wasn't a date, and then was - New Girl

Nick and jess first date that wasnt a date and then was new girl
To start off, Nick asked Jess out by calling her his toilet sister. That's always the way to a girl's heart. We couldn't help but cringe every time Nick let his nerves take over and said things that probably weren't first-date appropriate. The number of tickets they received for jaywalking while trying to decide if they were on a date or not made us want to haul ass out of there.

13 TV Characters Who Never Got a Funeral (And Should Have)

When a character dies, the people on the show aren't the only ones who are in mourning.

The audience also becomes invested in the characters, and need proper closure in order for their deaths to truly serve as an end to their story.

Related: 17 Kisses That Didn't Count

There are some major characters who never had an on-screen wake, which leaves viewers feeling unsatisfyed with how everything wrapped up.

We created a slideshow below of 13 TV characters who didn't get a proper funeral, and should have.

1. Allison Argent - Teen Wolf

Allison argent teen wolf
Allison Argent was singlehandedly the inspiration for this slideshow. She was a main character since the very first episode of Teen Wolf, and the lack of an onscreen funeral is something fans are still bitter about to this day.

2. Mark Sloan and Lexie Grey - Grey's Anatomy

Mark sloan and lexie grey greys anatomy
We appreciated that the hospital was named after Mark and Lexie, but an onscreen funeral to pay tribute to two major characters felt necessary. But then again, countless people have died on the show and it's rare to witness any funerals at all.

3. Poussey Washington - Orange is the New Black

Poussey washington orange is the new black
Poussey's inmates may have created a makeshift memorial, but she deserved a proper funeral and the prison should have provided it. Of course, they never would have done so, but Poussey was such a kind and pure soul who never should have been killed in such a brutal way to begin with.

4. Guinevere Beck - YOU

Guinevere beck you
Beck was the protagonist of the series and her death felt extremely sudden. One minute she was alive and the next her psycho boyfriend had killed her. A funeral would have been a good way to make her death feel more real.

5. Commander Lexa - The 100

Commander lexa the 100
Commanders don't get funerals. They get a chip cut out of their neck and their spirit placed in the next leader. But after everything Lexa had done for her people, it felt like she deserved more than a ritual.

6. Ellen and Jo Harvelle - Supernatural

Ellen and jo harvelle supernatural
It's been a decade and we're still not over Ellen and Jo's death. Their bodies were blown up so it's not like they could have had a proper burial, but it would have been nice for Sam and Dean to find a way to give them a makeshift funeral.

Usually, there's a fairly complicated reason why two people on television can't be together.

While it can be because of underlying problems, it's often because of outside forces.

Dating a certain someone could easily put your job in jeopardy, hurt a close friend, or even stir up talk that you don't want to deal with.

We created a slideshow of 23 couples who kept their relationship on the DL!

1. Jake and Amy - Brooklyn Nine-Nine

Jake and amy brooklyn nine nine
Jake and Amy's secret didn't last long. As soon as they decided to keep their new relationship under wraps, their boss walked in and suffered a heart attack after seeing them kiss. That's not easy to explain.

2. Ben and Leslie - Parks and Recreation

Ben and leslie parks and recreation
Ben and Leslie couldn't date because they worked together, but the bigger problem was that it could turn into a scandal and hurt Leslie's campaign for city council. They eventually decided to tell everyone the truth because, despite everything, they were miserable without each other.

3. June and Nick - The Handmaid's Tale

June and nick the handmaids tale
June is only allowed to be touched by the commander and is forbidden to be in any type of relationship. The penalty is death, so June and Nick really put it all out on the line. But they had to hold on to their feelings for each other as they're relationship is one of the only lights in what has become a dark world for both of them.

4. Annie and Gregg - Good Girls

Annie and gregg good girls
Gregg was cheating on his wife, so Annie and Gregg's reason for being on the DL was kind of horrible. But it's hard to deny that the two have insane chemistry, and if they weren't so dishonest, we would be totally on board.

5. Winston and Aly - New Girl

Winston and aly new girl
Well, this didn't last long. Winston and Aly tried to keep their relationship a secret since it was against the rules of the police department, but they're both the least subtle people ever.

6. Doug and Carol - ER

What's more entertaining than a couple who tries to keep their relationship a secret? When all of their friends have a bet going on about when they'll come out and admit it.

Whether the couple ended things or not, the relationship became tainted the moment the trust was broken between them.

We created a slideshow below of 19 relationships that were ruined by infidelity.

1. Callie and Arizona - Grey's Anatomy

Callie and arizona greys anatomy
Callie had stood by Arizona's side through everything. Callie gave up so much to support her and attend to her needs after the plane crash. We feel for Arizona, but we don't sympathize with her decision to hurt her wife.

2. Finn and Quinn - Glee

Finn and quinn glee
Not only did Quinn cheat on Finn, but she convinced him that even though they had never had sex, he was the father of her child. Talk about lies and betrayal.

3. Ethan and Emma - The Lying Game

Ethan and Emma were already starting to lose their magic, but Ethan's kiss with Sutton sealed the deal. Was anyone else shipping Emma and Thayer at this point?

4. Barney and Nora - How I Met Your Mother

Barney and nora how i met your mother
Barney and Nora weren't a main relationship in the series, but they did have great potential. It almost seemed as if Barney was a changed man when they were together, but he cheated on her with Robin and told Nora the truth while he was meeting her parents.

5. Piper and Larry - Orange is the New Black

Piper and larry orange is the new black
When Piper went to jail she was still engaged to Larry, and the two planned on being together once she got out. But Piper cheated on Larry with her former flame, Alex, and Larry put an end to their relationship.

6. Josh and Liza - Younger

Josh and liza younger
Team Josh all the way. The biggest problem in this relationship was Liza's lies and manipulations. Josh was able to look past everything she had done to him because he loved her so much. But it's got to hurt when you plan out an elaborate proposal only to see your girlfriend kissing someone else before you can get down on one knee.

Saying "I love you," for the first time can be a huge deal.

You may want to say it in the perfect way and at the perfect moment, but that's not always how life works.

Related: 13 Ship Moments Featuring the "Hands-On Approach"

If your feelings are strong enough, sometimes a love confession can come out when you least expect it.

We created a slideshow below of 11 declarations of love that slipped out by accident!

1. Ted and Robin - How I Met Your Mother

Ted and robin how i met your mother
One thing you don't do is tell a person you love them on the first date. The gang ended up teasing Ted about his accidental slip-up for the series' entire run. But Ted and Robin did end up together, so it may not have been the worst move in the world.

2. Jonah and Amy - Superstore

Jonah and amy superstore
It's not surprising that Jonah and Amy said "I love you," for the first time mid-argument. During a fight about Dina's birds (it's a long story), Amy screamed that she loved Jonah and he screamed it right back. Typical.

3. Nick and Jess - New Girl

Nick and jess new girl
It's impossible to forget Nick and Jess' finger gun incident. Jess looked so pretty that Nick couldn't help but let a casual "I love you," slip out before she left for her party. The moment Nick realized what he said he panicked, and Jess was so startled that she made finger guns at Nick as the limo pulled away.

4. Liza and Josh - Younger

Liza and josh younger
When Liza said "I love you," it was just a response to Josh finding her a bottle of water while she was high. But when Josh immediately said it back, it made Liza realize she loved him for real.

5. Jane and Ryan - The Bold Type

Jane and ryan the bold type
Jane and Ryan weren't even dating when a love confession slipped out. Jane's declaration happened during shower sex. She later took it back so it wouldn't make things weird, but it was awkward for a bit.

6. Mark and Lexie - Grey's Anatomy

Mark and lexie greys anatomy
It may have popped out by accident at first, but Lexie decided to use it to her advantage. She had been delaying telling Mark how she felt for quite some time, and once it was out there, she poured her heart out.

19 TV Show References That Help Us Through Life

References are certainly an important part of making any TV show memorable. Sometimes it's a funny and relatable saying that sticks around, or a tradition from a TV friend group that transcends into your own life, whatever it may be they're a way for the audience to connect with the characters on screen.

Some shows are iconic and known for their ability to create standout references; a few include Grey's Anatomy, Friends, and How I Met Your Mother. Any show centered around humor is a good candidate to produce such references.

Related: Enjoy UNLIMITED access to thousands of Movies and TV shows with Amazon Prime Video

You may find yourself using these references as you go through life, whether you're experiencing a funk and trying one of the coping mechanisms offered, or are looking to have slapsgiving with friends. Whatever it is, we've compiled a list of the ones we found the most memorable.

Comment your thoughts below and let us know if you've used any of the listed references! Also list any we may have missed.

1. Dance It Out

Dance it out
If you're a true Grey's Anatomy fan, I'm sure you've "danced it out" with friends through many life struggles. There has to be some research that says dancing it out to music is the cure to many things — something about the music and movement stimulating the brain's dopamine supply.

2. Pivot

Pivot
Maybe you've moved to a new home, dorm, or apartment and have struggled to carry heavy, bulky furniture through the absurdly narrow hallways. But fear not, yelling the word "pivot" made the experience much more satisfying and much more bearable thanks to Friends.

3. Yas Queen

Yas queen
"Yas Queen!" your proper response to anything exciting in life including the miracle of your friend's childbirth and of course any situation in which you've taught a 7-year-old the phrase itself.

4. Diva Off

Diva off
When you need to settle an argument fair and square, of course, you're going to use a diva-off as the way to settle the score, what better way to choose the best point guard than by having them compete for the better rendition of a Rent song just as Rachel and Mercedes did in Glee.

5. Closet Pow Wow

Closet pow wow
Sometimes the only way to get through the workday is to pow-wow inside a closet with your work besties. You don't always have to have access to a fancy fashion closet like Jane, Sutton, and Kat have in The Bold Type, a janitor's closet will work all the same.

6. Musical Monologue

Musical monologue
It can be all in your head or to a crowd, but Rebecca Bunch's musical monologues in Crazy Ex-Girlfriend throughout her trials and tribulations certainly helped her figure out answers to many of life's challenges.

31 TV Characters Who Really Enjoy Food

Food can be a pleasure as well as a necessity and some TV characters are well aware of that.

Sometimes a character just loves to eat the food that's put in front of them. Other times they take pride and joy in preparing the food that they serve to others.

RELATED: 13 Fictional Places We'd Totally Hang Out

Others have had to improvise with what they have to feed people they're responsible for. Some, have an obsession over a very particular food.

Whatever their preferred method of engaging in this edible medium, there have been several characters that have reminded us to slow down, enjoy the simple things in life (and sometimes luxuries like delicious cake).

RELATED: 13 TV Diners to Get the Best Slice of Pie

We've compiled 31 of our favorite eaters and chefs who really know how to enjoy food. Enjoy.

1. Josh Hoberman (The Magicians)

Josh hoberman the magicians
Josh Hoberman's skills in the kitchen are an intrinsic part of his character. During Season 2 of The Magicians, we found him selling edible potions, and by Season 4 he was comforting Margo with a "ball of carbs." But Josh doesn't just make the food, he loves to eat it as well, and it looks like old god cake might have ruined him forever.

2. Galina "Red" Reznikov (Orange is the New Black)

Galina red reznikov orange is the new black
Red takes so much pride in how she runs her kitchen on Orange is the New Black Season 1. More so when she sends her girls out to look for the feral chicken during "The Chickening." Red has big plans for her white whale that include eating the chicken, absorbing its power, and making a nice kiev. A kiev she'll prepare most expertly.

3. The Eleventh Doctor (Doctor Who)

The eleventh doctor doctor who
The introduction of the Eleventh Doctor was very food-driven. When The Doctor first meets Amelia Pond he asks for an apple and then goes through various foods until he finally settles on fish fingers and custard. While some of the running sequences don't leave a lot of time for enjoyment, "fish custard" becomes a running theme throughout his time with Amy Pond.

4. Liz Lemon (30 Rock)

Liz lemon 30 rock
The writer of TGS loves good food as much as anyone else. She's scarfed night cheese in a slanket, eaten an entire sandwich just so he didn't have to throw it out in a TSA line, and is regularly seen eating everything from cheetos to cupcakes.

5. Monica Gellar (Friends)

Monica gellar friends
Monica is a chef, and a bit of a perfectionist, so we know she can prepare an amazing meal. Yet she can also be seen throughout the series enjoying her fair share of cake, Chinese food, and other delicious food stuffs.

6. Lorelai and Rory Gilmore (Gilmore Girls)

Lorelai and rory gilmore gilmore girls
This mother and daughter pair have a healthy appetite. The regular practice of ordering enough takeout to feed an army is a regular occurrence on Gilmore Girls, as is their patronage at Luke's dinner. Oh, and they also enjoy tasting wedding cakes when they have no intention of ordering one.

17 Incredibly Awkward Sexual Experiences

$

Sex is a big deal, especially the first time. After episodes and seeming eons of longing and wanting, lusting and loving from afar, when a couple finally consummated, finally doing it is considered epic.

Except sometimes it isn't. The media has built up this idea that sex is earthshattering and awesome even the first time.

RELATED: 19 Characters Whose Chemistry Could Set Off Fireworks

In reality, sex can be awkward. It can be painful if you are a virgin. It can be strange if you are transitioning from a formerly platonic relationship. Or it can just be underwhelming.

Television doesn't always like to go there, but it is great when it does. A realistically awkward first time can bring a sense of reality to a show.

Of course, sometimes the reason for the awkwardness is exaggerated, cartoonish, comedic, or even catastrophic. Let's face it, even when TV tries to get real, it is still TV.

1. Chandler and Kathy -- Friends

Chandler and kathy friends
On Friends Season 4 Episode 11 Chandler admits that he is holding off having sex with his girlfriend because he knows her last boyfriend was Joey and based on what he heard through their shared wall, the sex was really great. He is disappointed when Kathy does not get as turned on during their sexcapades. Chandler never says the sex is bad for him, but Kathy not getting into it sort of ruins it for him. His female friends tell him it can take time for girls. Monica then teaches him about the supposed seven erogenous zones on a woman. After that, Chandler and Kathy give it another try and Kathy thanks Monica emphatically.

2. Noel and Felicity -- Felicity

Noel and felicity
So, Noel and Felicity do not get to the sex part on Felicity Season 1 Episode 11, but it is still all kinds of awkward. Felicity and Noel make an "appointment" to have sex in his dorm. Noel prepares a romantic night, but Felicity comes at him, trying to take her research on the subject into account. She's aggressive, trying to "focus" and "get it over with." Some students walk in on them, and then everything catches on fire. Noel tries to keep things under control, still wanting to do it, but it doesn't work out. Eventually, Felicity realizes she isn't ready to lose her virginity.

3. Seth and Summer -- The O.C.

After months of back and forth, Seth and Summer finally got together on The O.C. Season 1 Episode 19. Afterward, Seth tells Ryan how awkward it was, describing sounds and faces he made. "I sucked so bad. I was like a fish flopping around on dry land. Ryan, I was Nemo, and I just wanted to go home." When the couple tries again, Summer ends up limping, and Seth has some trouble seeing out of his eye. Seth assumes he is the problem due to Summer's reputation, but she later admits to him that she was also a virgin. This was one of the earlier instances of a show "going there" with an awkward first time. And one of the best!

4. Veronica and Duncan -- Veronica Mars

Veronica and duncan veronica mars
On Veronica Mars Season 1 Episode 21, Veronica finally learns what happened to her on the night she can't remember. She was roofied and passed around to a lot of people. Her ex-boyfriend, who had also gotten roofied, found her passed out in a bed, and the two had sex. Considering they were both roofied, and Veronica couldn't even remember it the next morning, it can't have been the most enjoyable of first times. It doesn't help that Veronica woke up alone and under the impression that she had gotten raped. In fairness, she had been raped, just not by Duncan.

5. George and Meredith -- Grey's Anatomy

George and meredith greys anatomy
On Grey's Anatomy Season 2 Episode 18, George finally tells his long-time crush Meredith how he feels, and the two get together. However, on Grey's Anatomy Season 2 Episode 19, it is revealed that things went very bad between the two in the bedroom. Meredith was sad and drunk, and George was a sweet guy who cared about her so much, so she wanted it to work. However, she was in love with someone else and not really into George. She tries, but she burst into tears while George is on top of her. He storms out, hurt, angry, and humiliated.

6. Lane and Zack -- Gilmore Girls

Lane and zack gilmore girls
On Gilmore Girls Season 7 Episode 2 Lane and Rory discuss the truth about sex. As Lane's highly anticipated losing of her virginity on her honeymoon was so miserable, she is convinced that sex is always bad for women and that the idea that it is healthy, wonderful, and sexy is a conspiracy by the media. Rory digs for details and learns that Lane and Zack attempted sex on the beach, which means dirty sand, cold nature, and shellfish crawling all over you. Lane is opting for a sexless marriage, but Rory advises her to try again indoors in a bed with a comforter.

You don't have to be an old married couple to act like one.

All you really need to do is end up at each other's throats, while also being overly concerned about each other's well being.

Some relationships on television play the part up for laughs, and with others it just comes naturally.

We've created a slideshow below of 27 young old married couples!

1. Damon and Bonnie - The Vampire Diaries

Damon and bonnie the vampire diaries
We're still Team Bamon for life. Damon and Bonnie bickered constantly, but at the end of the day, they loved each other and were best friends. And we can't forget that when they were stuck in another dimension they read the newspaper and did crossword puzzles together. Can you get any more domestic?

2. Raj and Howard - The Big Bang Theory

Raj and howard the big bang theory
Raj and Howard acting like an old married couple is a running gag on The Big Bang Theory. If we're being honest, we're surprised they ended up marrying other people instead of each other.

3. Mac and Dennis - It's Always Sunny in Philidelphia

Mac and dennis its always sunny in philidelphia
Sometimes we forget that Mac and Dennis are roommates and not husbands who live together. They've even been called out by other characters for acting like an old married couple in the past.

4. Joey and Chandler - Friends

Joey and chandler friends
At the end of the day, Joey and Chandler will always be each other's true love. They lived together and even had two kids: a chick and a duck. You can't get much more married than that.

5. Michael and Maria - Roswell, New Mexico

Michael and maria roswell new mexico
Michael and Maria act like they've known each other for a century. When they're not bickering and acting like they want to rip each other's heads off, they're kissing and being the softest people on the planet. Somehow, it's an adorable mix.

6. Winston and Schmidt - New Girl

Winston and schmidt new girl
Winston and Schmidt's relationship was one of the highlights of New Girl. They already lived together, and they were always bickering with each other over the strangest things.

21 Male Characters Who Couldn't Take No for an Answer

On both television and real life, some men refuse to understand what the word "no" means.

Whether the situation is romantic, sexual, or otherwise, the inability to respect a person's wishes is an unattractive quality in itself.

Related: Friends: 11 Reasons Why Rachel Should Have Ended Up With Joey

Not only are these type of people toxic, but they can also be dangerous.

We created a slideshow below of 21 male characters who couldn't take no for an answer.

1. Fred Waterford - The Handmaid's Tale

Fred waterford the handmaids tale
The Commander doesn't care about consent. Besides having non-consensual sex with her every month to produce a child, he also held her down and raped her while she begged him to stop. There are not many characters that are worse than Fred Waterford.

2. Chuck Bass - Gossip Girl

Chuck bass gossip girl
Although many people try to, it's impossible to forget that Gossip Girl's pilot episode showcased Chuck trying to rape two main characters on two separate occasions. Considering that he tried to commit two crimes in one day, who's to say Chuck hasn't succeeded in the past? If a Gossip Girl reboot is happening, please leave Chuck out of it.

3. Michael Scott - The Office

T bo icarly
Michael just had a problem with the word "no" in general. Whenever his employees didn't want to do something that made them uncomfortable he continued to push them into it.

4. Joe Goldberg - YOU

Joe goldberg you
Joe did everything in his power to make Beck want to be with him and even obsessively stalked her for months. He murdered her ex-boyfriend and best friend because they interfered with his relationship with Beck, and he ended up killing her.

5. Ross Geller - Friends

Ross geller friends
Ross wouldn't take "no" for an answer no matter what the situation was. While he did act as if he had a claim on Rachel, he also felt he should always have what he wanted in their relationship. The time Rachel told Ross he couldn't come to her work, yet insisted on doing it anyway was what led to their "break" in the first place.

6. Harvey Specter - Suits

Harvey specter suits
Harvey said himself, "I never take no for an answer." That's a pretty toxic mindset to have, and it shows his lack of respect for other people's boundaries.

17 Unpopular Opinions in the TV World

$

Whether differences in opinion about certain couples, deaths, or story arcs, there's always a significant buzz around differing opinions about your favorite shows, usually on either Reddit or Twitter.

They don't necessarly have to be in disagreement with the writers or producers because fanbases are strong.

23 'Ships Almost Everyone Can Agree On

We've compiled a list of some unpopuar opinions surrounding popular shows -- and we just happen to agree with them. Some might make you think, while others might cause some immediate conflict.

Take it to the comments; we're ready for a heated discussion about all the valid (and invalid) points!

1. How I Met Your Mother - Ted and Robin Forever

Ted mosby and robin scherbatsky forever
Yes, the show is called How I Met Your Mother, but it was more of the journey rather than the destination. Maybe Cristin Milioti deserved a better ending and a longer plotline, but Robin Scherbatsky was always going to be Ted's "one that got away." So, Ted and Robin forever!

2. Grey's Anatomy - Deaths were for the Better

Greys anatomy deaths
Although the deaths of McDreamy, McSteamy, Lexi, and of course George were deeply emotional, they were important for the growth of Meredith, Alex, and the show. Some of them may have come unexpectedly, but we always enjoy the unpredictable.

3. Pretty Little Liars - Emily and Paige Should've Ended Up Together

Emily and paige
Perhaps more of a polarizing opinion than just an unpopular one, Emily and Paige from Pretty Little Liars were meant to be together. Sure, they may have had a rocky relationship before they were together, but we like to argue that Emily and Allison had an unhealthy relationship through and through.

4. Big Little Lies - Someone Else Should've Killed Perry

Big little lies bonnie killing perry
Bonnie's part in Perry's death on Big Little Lies seemed unnecessary. It would have been more logical to come from Celeste, Madeleine, or Jane. Bonnie really had no connection to Perry, and it would've added so much more drama if one of the others had taken down Perry. While her actions eventually made sense, it doesn't mean we have to like it.

5. The Fosters - Callie and Brandon's Relationship Wasn't Questionable

Callie and brandon
This one is slightly more controversial, and their relationship was iffier, but Callie and Brandon weren't blood, and they had a genuine connection and attraction to each other. They were cute, but as star-crossed lovers, they learned the lesson that sometimes love isn't meant to be.

6. Younger - The Publishing Feud is a Waste of Time

Younger publishing feud
The feud between Millennial and Mercury on Younger was a waste of time and only fulfilled the necessity of conflict somewhere in the storyline.

19 Characters Who Had Too Many Love Interests

There's no doubt that characters can have as many flings or relationships as they want.

But when a character has a large amount of serious love interests in such a short amount of time, keeping up with their love life starts to get a bit exhausting.

Related: Roswell, New Mexico: 11 Reasons We Ship Michael and Alex

There comes a time when they need to take a break from their search for romance, and start doing some soul searching instead.

We created a slideshow below of 19 characters who had too many love interests!

1. Archie Andrews - Riverdale

Archie andrews riverdale
It's hard to believe that Riverdale's first season was only 13 episodes, considering that Archie had five different love interests throughout it. We get that the Archie/Betty/Veronica love triangle had to be a thing, but did they have to throw his teacher, Cheryl, and Valerie in there at the same time?

2. Callie Foster - The Fosters

Callie foster the fosters
The real question is, who didn't Callie date? Callie is, of course, at liberty to be with whoever she pleases, but things were getting excessive on The Fosters. She constantly played with everyone's heart and bounced from one person to the next in no time at all.

3. Lexie Grey - Grey's Anatomy

Lexie grey greys anatomy
Lexie somehow ended up in relationships with all three of Grey's Anatomy's most eligible bachelors. Mark, Jackson, and Alex all dated her at one point or another, even though Sloan was the only person she ever had chemistry with.

4. Hakeem Lyon - Empire

Hakeem lyon empire
Hakeem has a baby with his dad's ex-wife and spent a lot of time in on and off relationships. It was hard to focus on his storyline when there was so much romantic drama in the way.

5. Simon Lewis - Shadowhunters

Simon lewis shadowhunters
It took Simon far too long to realize that his soulmate had always been right in front of him. It's easy to forget that Simon was dating his bandmate until he confessed his love for Clary and ended up in a serious relationship with his best friend. After that ended, he quickly entered into a relationship with Maia, which lasted for quite some time. Meanwhile, we were all just waiting for Sizzy to happen.

6. Oliver Queen - Arrow

Oliver queen arrow
Because of how devoted Oliver and Felicity are to each other, it's easy to forget that they weren't together during the first couple seasons of Arrow. Oliver had serious relationships with Laurel, her sister Sara, Shado (through flashbacks), Helena, and McKenna all over the span of two seasons. Not to mention that the show was also building up his romance with Felicity through that time period.

17 Times Labor Went Above and Beyond the Pain

Labor is painful on its own, but add in extra drama and unique circumstances and it becomes almost unbearable.

Television doesn't like to let their characters off easy, and even though giving birth isn't easy to begin with, it can never go down without a major hitch.

Related: 19 Characters Who Had Too Many Love Interests

We created a slideshow below of 17 times labor went above and beyond the pain.

1. Amy Gives Birth Next to a Dead Body - Superstore

Amy gives birth next to a dead body superstore
Amy and Dina both leave work to have their babies, but Amy discovers that the hospital isn't under her insurance plan. Amy and Jonah go to a rundown clinic nearby and end up sharing a room with a corpse while an elderly doctor delivers her baby.

2. Rachel's Labor Never Ends - Friends

Rachels labor never ends friends
This entire scenario may have been comedic, but it was hard not to feel bad for Rachel at the end of the day. Multiple mothers were rolled in and out of the shared hospital room to give birth, while Rachel spent the entire time in continuous suffering.

3. Petra Gives Birth to Twins Without an Epidural - Jane the Virgin

Petra gives birth to twins without an epideral jane the virgin
Pushing out one baby is hard enough, but pushing out two without an epidural to numb the pain is downright agony. Thankfully, Jane was there to help her through it, and after some angry curses in Czech, Petra is able to make it through.

4. Pam Almost Has Her Baby in the Office - The Office

Pam almost has her baby in the office the office
Trying to find a loophole in their insurance, Pam decides to wait as long as possible to go to the hospital. But Pam waits too long, causing Jim to go into panic mode, and Michael drives them to the hospital just in the nick of time.

5. Georgia's at Home Delivery Almost Kills Her - New Amsterdam

New amsterdam
As if having her baby at home and nearly dying isn't enough, the ambulance that Georgia and her family are in ends up getting into a major accident on the way to the hospital. The season finale of New Amsterdam left us unaware of her fate.

6. April Has an Emergency C-Section With No Anesthesia - Grey's Anatomy

Greys anatomy
With a storm raging outside, April tells Ben to save her baby no matter the cost. While Jackson frantically yells over the phone to keep April alive, Ben cuts her open with a kitchen knife and no anesthesia. Say what you want about April, but this moment proved just how strong of a person she is.

41 TV Couples With Absolutely No Chemistry

There are a lot of elements that go into making a fictional relationship successful.

The story and the development are both crucial pieces to the puzzle, but they don't matter if there's no onscreen chemistry.

Related: 17 Times Labor Went Above and Beyond the Pain

Some ships fizzled out the longer their show was on, and others never had a spark to begin with.

We created a list below of 41 TV couples with absolutely no chemistry!

1. Jackson and Maggie - Grey's Anatomy

Jackson and Maggie

Most fans can collectively agree that the relationship between Jackson and Maggie is a dull one. Or maybe it seems dull in comparison to what Jackson and April could have had.

2. Tom and Ann - Parks and Recreation

Tom and Ann

You know there's no chemistry when their first onscreen kiss made viewers physically cringe. What was the point of throwing Tom and Ann together, again?

3. Max and Georgia - New Amsterdam

Max and Georgia

Max's devotion to his wife is sweet, but that's the only thing we can appreciate about their marriage. It doesn't make us feel anything other than boredom.

4. Edison and Olivia - Scandal

Olivia and Edison

Most Scandal viewers weren't huge fans of Edison. Whether or not our dislike of the character played into how we view their chemistry is still uncertain, but there never seemed to be any magnetism in the relationship.

5. Rachel and Sam - Glee

Sam and Rachel

It felt unnecessary for Glee to even go here in the first place. Rachel had recently recovered from Finn's death, and she was obviously going to rekindle things with Jesse. It was as if Rachel had to give it a shot with everyone before the show's end.

6. Scott and Kira - Teen Wolf

Scott and Kira

Scott and Kira started the series incredibly cute, but as the show went on the writers seemed to stop caring about her.

Her whimsical personality disappeared, and she became a bland character who faded into the background. Kira's relationship with Scott suffered as a result, and their dynamic fell completely flat.

7. Sam and Tara - True Blood

Sam and Tara

There were quite a few couples in True Blood who's chemistry was nonexistent. Sam and Tara fell into that category, and Sookie and Bill could probably fit in there too.

8. Dean and Beth - Good Girls

Dean and Beth

Are they even supposed to have chemistry? It's incredible that Dean and Beth still haven't divorced given how they both cheated and can't stand to be around each other.

9. Rick and Jessie - The Walking Dead

Rick and Jessie

Rick and Jessie are the definition of a filler relationship. Rick hadn't truly been with anyone since Lori, and the show wasn't quite ready to put him with his best friend, Michonne. Therefore, Rick and Jessie existed in limbo.

10. Amy and Adam - Superstore

Amy and Adam - Superstore

The relationship between Amy and her husband was so bad it was laughable. It was hard even to consider them a couple when her chemistry with her co-worker, Jonah, was off the charts in comparison.

11. Finn and Raven - The 100

Finn and Raven

To be fair, Finn didn't have chemistry with anyone. But he and Raven always appeared as though they had more of a sibling bond than a romantic one.

12. Betty and Jughead - Riverdale

Betty and Jughead

Considering that the actors dated in real life, it was surprising that the characters onscreen chemistry dwindled so dramatically. Now everytime they're on the screen together we can't help but sing, "Thank U, Next."

13. Seg and Lyta - Krypton

Seg and Lyta

If we're being honest, Seg doesn't have much chemistry with anyone, but his relationship with Lyta was dull in every sense of the word.

14. Lucifer and Eve - Lucifer

Lucifer and Eve

Lucifer and Eve might not have been able to keep their hands off each other, but it always felt forced on Lucifer's end to get over Chloe. Nothing about it seemed real.

15. Allison and Luther - The Umbrella Academy

Allison and Luther

Allison and Luther were raised as siblings and had no problem calling the rest of their family brothers and sisters. The romance between them felt wrong in every way possible.

16. Frank and Claire - House of Cards

Frank and Claire

Frank and Claire's marriage didn't feel real at all. There seemed to be a lack of love, and it felt as if they were married to suit their political agendas more than anything else.

17. Jess and Robby - New Girl

Jess and Robby

Even before they realized they were cousins, their interactions were just plain cringe-worthy. Jess and Robby kept trying to force what wasn't there.

18. Jane and Rafael - Jane the Virgin

Jane and Rafael

Don't come at me, Jafael fans. There's no denying that over the second half of the series their chemistry drastically improved.

But besides one kiss amped up with dramatic music and falling flower petals, their relationship was bland and uneventful in the first few seasons. Even Rafael originally saw Jane like a sister.

19. Liz and Kyle - Roswell, New Mexico

Liz and Kyle

Their hookups may not have lasted for long, but it was still hard to watch Liz and Kyle together when it seemed rather tasteless and was never going to go anywhere.

20. Jackie and Fez - That 70's Show

Jackie and Fez

How did this even happen? Jackie had two other viable options with whom she had chemistry, and it made no sense that the series decided to stick her with the one person she didn't.

21. Riley and Lucas - Girl Meets World

Riley and Lucas

It still blows our minds that Riley and Lucas ended up together. Their entire story was boring and stereotypical, and Lucas had much more chemistry with Riley's best friend, Maya.

22. Shelby and Ryan - Quantico

Shelby and Ryan

Shelby and Ryan should never have been a thing in the first place. We're still shocked that Quantico decided to go with such a hollow relationship over the alternatives.

23. George and Izzie - Grey's Anatomy

George and Izzie

George and Izzie always gave off friendship vibes more than anything. When they got together, it looked like they were kissing their brother or sister.

24. Jason and Tahani - The Good Place

Jason and Tahani

Thankfully, Jason and Tahani happened in a small number of the reboots, but it was still weird to watch. Now, they're married so that Jason can share in her wealth.

25. Rebecca and Josh - Crazy Ex-Girlfriend

Rebecca and Josh

Crazy Ex-Girlfriend made such a big deal about the Rebecca and Josh's relationship when it wasn't even all that to begin with. They both have more chemistry with other people.

26. Veronica and Duncan - Veronica Mars

Veronica and Duncan

Duncan stayed away from Veronica because he thought that she was his sister, and honestly, that dynamic fit them better than a romantic one.

27. Felicity and Ray - Arrow

Felicity and Ray

Felicity was only with Ray to cause drama between her and Oliver, so it made sense that there weren't any sparks here. They weren't the couple viewers were supposed to be rooting for.

28. Greg and Jax - Pandora

Greg and Pandora

When Greg and Jax meet up at the Space Fleet Training Academy, Jax makes it clear that she's not interesting in caring for anyone else. Her whole attitude played into the events that followed, and now there's not even a chance to see if chemistry could have even been created between the two.

29. Ted and The Slutty Pumpkin - How I Met Your Mother

Ted and Slutty Pumpkin

The lack of compatibility between Ted and The Slutty Pumpkin was comical. They couldn't even hold hands without making it awkward. We know you were hung up on her for a while Ted, but some things just aren't meant to be.

30. Charles and Liza - Younger

Charles and Liza

Many people will likely disagree with this one, but Charles and Liza have always felt more forced than anything. While their scenes together are sometimes enjoyable, the fireworks aren't there and they have never been.

31. Ed and Kelly - The Orville

Ed and Kelly

Despite being married in the past, Ed and Kelly's relationship is only good when it's a working one. Kelly now serves as Ed's first officer and everything gets thrown out of wack when they try to rekindle their romance.

32. Rose and Mickey - Doctor Who

Rose and Mickey

Mickey and Rose knew each other since they were kids and Mickey always had a crush on Rose. But viewers were always given the impression that Rose only cared about Mickey as a friend and was with him more for convenience than anything else.

33. Lorelai and Jason - Gilmore Girls

Lorelai and Jason

Maybe we're biased, but Lorelai never had chemistry with anyone other than Luke. It's probably because, deep in her heart, it was always Luke she wanted to be with.

34. Simon and Clary - Shadowhunters

Simon and Clary

Simon and Clary gave off best friend energy, and that was it. We get that the show threw them together to stay true to Cassandra Clare's books, but viewers could have done without it.

35. Michael and Ash - Star Trek: Discovery

Michael and Ash

Ash being a physically reconstructed Klingon with memories grafted over his real identity made his relationship with Michael undesirable. Whatever spark used to be there has gone out completely.

36. Dean and Lisa - Supernatural

Dean and Lisa

Dean's time on the road with his brother doesn't give him many opportunities for long-term romances, but when he did finally get one it was underwhelming. The only woman Dean ever had chemistry with was Jo, and she was killed moments after their first kiss.

37. Caitlin and Julian - The Flash

Caitlin and Julian

Caitlin and Julian are both great characters, but sadly the spark isn't there. No matter how much we love them, sometimes couples just fall flat.

38. Gina and Charles - Brooklyn Nine-Nine

Gina and Charles

Gina and Charles went from begrudging co-workers to casually hooking up, to step-siblings, to ex step-siblings. The whole thing was a giant trainwreck.

39. Devon and Julian - The Resident

Devon and Julian

Devon and Julian were a weird case. There were times it was easy to ship them, but their chemistry was always off, and sometimes they were plain awkward around each other.

40. Aria and Ezra - Pretty Little Liars

Aria and Ezra

The only vibes Ezria gave off were creepy ones. A sixteen-year-old girl and her high school teach don't have chemistry. If anything, the forbidden love aspect tried to compensate for the lack of it.

41. Wil and Mareth - The Shannara Chronicles

Wil and Mareth

Who thought this was a good idea? Wil had much more chemistry with Eretria, and while Mareth was a fun addition to the show, her romance with Wil felt forced.
